SPA COMMITTEES

There are eight standing committees of the SPA.

The Program Committee is comprised of not more than six, but not fewer than, three members and plans the scientific program for the Annual Meeting, including coordinating the guest speakers.  They assist in meeting requirements for CME accreditation.

The Nominating Committee is charged with the responsibility to seek, receive, and consider names for all elected Officers and Board Members.

The Future Sites Committee reviews and recommends future sites for the Annual Meeting.

The Resident/Fellow Award Committee is charged with the responsibility to solicit and review papers or abstracts submitted for the Award.

The Constitution and Bylaws Committee periodically reviews the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, receives suggestions from members of the Corporation relative to any changes which should be made, and brings the suggested changes before the Board for approval and recommendation to the members.

The Finance Committee has the responsibility to determine the appropriate measures to enhance the long term financial status of the Corporation.

The Long Range Planning Committee is charged with the responsibility to develop policies to address long range issues for the development of the SPA and develop ideas to help insure the future success of the SPA.  The committee also acts as an advisory to the President and Officers where necessary.
